29-03-2026Distinguished Visit: Additional Chief Secretary Rashmi Mahesh, IAS, Addresses Evaluation Camp at Al-Ameen PU College
Bengaluru | March 28, 2026
Al-Ameen PU College was honored to host Smt. Rashmi Mahesh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, for an official visit to our campus evaluation center yesterday. Accompanied by senior dignitaries from the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB), the visit provided a platform for high-level dialogue on the future of quality education in the state.
Focus on Quality and Accessibility
During her visit, Smt. Rashmi Mahesh took the time to personally address the evaluators. Her address centered on a vision for a more equitable and standardized educational landscape. Key highlights from her interaction included:
Empowering Government Colleges: A strong call to action to ensure that quality education is not a privilege, but a right available to every student across all Government Colleges.
Standardization via NCERT: The ACS emphasized the mandatory use of prescribed NCERT textbooks. She underscored the importance of discouraging a reliance on private publishers to ensure all students are evaluated on a level and academically rigorous playing field.
Democratizing Competitive Exams: In a major move toward inclusivity, she discussed plans to make CET and competitive examination coaching accessible to "common students" within the government college system, bridging the gap between rural and urban aspirants.
A Vision for Educational Reform
Beyond the formal proceedings, the visit was underpinned by a clear, authoritative intention from the leadership. As Smt. Rashmi Mahesh, IAS, engaged with the academic staff, her message was resonant:
"We must hear the challenges faced by our evaluators and educators to truly refine our system. Our goal is a transparent, high-quality, and accessible education for every student in Karnataka."
This commitment to transparency and inclusivity signals a significant shift toward a more robust and student-centric assessment model across the state.
Collaborative Dialogue
The visit was not merely a formal inspection but an open forum. The ACS actively invited opinions and feedback from the evaluators regarding the challenges they face on the ground. This collaborative approach by the KSEAB and the Department of Education ensures that the evaluation process remains robust and student-centric.
Al-Ameen PU College remains committed to supporting these state-wide initiatives and providing a conducive environment for such critical academic milestones.
